Story

This is a love song albeit something of a tangled web . . . but, then, isn’t that love?

Lyrics

Pardon me if I admit: lately I find that I am running low on romance.

I wasn't watching but our passion slowly faded.

I try explaining why I'm jaded but I can't.

Sometimes the two of us together feel as tired as rainy weather in July.

Our love was bright and breezy once upon a time.

We need a climate change to get the sun to shine.

A little jealousy sets off alarms in me,

And suddenly it's you I can't ignore.

At a party I will spy you talking with some other guy;

I worry he's the one that you adore.

He'll be hanging on your every word completely charmed by all he's heard.

I watch him watching you and then once more

I am glad that I'm the one who’ll be holding your hand

When I look at you through the eyes of another man!

From day to day distractions find a way

To put my fickle memory to the test.

When some other fellow's yearning shows me I've been undiscerning,

Then I realize what I possess.

Your sultry voice can hypnotize; one wink from you can paralyze;

You lightly clutch my arm, I catch my breath!

And I’m glad that I'm the one who is holding your hand

When I look at you through the eyes of another man!

Now I'm feeling better; no doubts as to whether

You are any less alluring than before.

I am glad that I'm the one who is holding your hand

When I look at you through the eyes of another man!
